EVENTS OF NOTE

Pamela Maksy, Financial Services Manager and Treasurer at GMA Foundations addressed the role of the trustee as fiduciary at a recent Associated Grantmakers Workshop.

She outlined what the role entails and explain how trustees can interact with their investment, tax, and legal advisors to exercise “due diligence” in safeguarding the foundation’s assets.  She also covered the basic requirements of record keeping.

The was designed for foundation trustees and staff, the session was designed to help participants better understand how a foundation’s financial resources may be invested and managed.

Pamela’s co-presenters included Jennifer Murtie, Director of Foundation Services at Federal Street Advisors and lfonso Perillo, tax exempt expert from Edelstein & Co.
